Well, fuck us gently with a chainsaw: Heathers: The Musical is finally coming to town after a sold-out run in Los Angeles. Laurence O’Keefe, who scored the award-winning Bat Boy: The Musical, and Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness), take on the 1988 cult classic concerning the powerful Heathers clique, their newest member, Veronica, and a disturbed young man who wants to get revenge on their high school — by any means necessary. With such excellent source material as “Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?” and “Grow up, Heather, bulimia’s so ’87,” how could it be bad?

Sundays, 3 & 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 2:30 p.m.; Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: March 19. Continues through Sept. 7, 2014
