Need a midweek pick-me-up? Check out the always amazing combo of pizza and beer, which is featured twice in this week’s happy hour specials.
BLT Bar and Grill, 123 Washington Street
After a jog through Hudson River Park, treat yourself to a job well done with free pizza. A complementary slice of cheese comes with any drink order placed between 5 and 7 p.m. All draft beers and a few wines are five bucks a piece, while a featured cocktail-of-the-day clocks in at $8.
L’Asso, 192 Mott Street
If you prefer pizza for lunch, head to Little Italy for a $7 beer-and-pie combo; you’ll get two slices of margherita pizza and any draft beer when dining at the bar. Or take advantage of a new four buck brew and house wine deal. As an added bonus, wine bottles are half-price all day Monday and Tuesday — which probably means you should call up a few friends to split a pie.
Cafe Bar Astoria, 3290 36th Street, Queens
This bar offers happy hour specials from 4 to 7 p.m. and 11 to 1 a.m., though you can drop in any time to check out the extensive international beer list. Look for deals like $4 well drinks and house wine in addition to $1 off any bottled brew and beer pitchers starting at $16. The beer list features a rating system designating pours as world class, exceptional, and very good — though since many are high in ABV, it probably doesn’t matter after a drink or two.
Hallo Berlin, 626 Tenth Avenue
With a beer garden open year-round and a festive vibe, guests can celebrate German drinking culture any day of the year. Steins of beer are eight bucks during happy hour, and German food specialties like sauerbraten and goulash are $5 five dollars off. The bar has an extensive array of German beers, and this is a solid setting for a group outing after a trip to Broadway.
