Here’s How to Make an Award-Winning Bloody Mary

When we hit the weird and wonderful NYC Hot Sauce Expo a few weeks back, we witnessed the crowning of the best bloody mary in the city via the final round of a contest that had started with preliminary mix-offs throughout the boroughs. At the end of it all, the judges bestowed the honors upon Staten Island’s Sean McAuliffe, who slings drinks at Daddy O’s BBQ & Sports Bar (35 Androvette Street, Staten Island, 718-948-3333).

McAuliffe has generously shared his recipe with us — mixing it up seems like the right way to ring in the weekend. Or you could trek out there and have one at the bar.
