Like its big brother in November, the Brooklyn Half is a great spectator sport. An official part of the New York Road Runners Five-Borough Series, the Half Marathon starts in Prospect Park and winds up on the boardwalk at Coney Island. The course covers a terrific slice of Brooklyn through the park, past the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Grand Army Plaza and onto Ocean Parkway heading for the beach. And there’s more than just the race. Starting Wednesday, New Balance sponsors a four day pre-party at Pier 2 in Brooklyn Bridge Park that includes food, live music, fitness classes and group runs. Race starts near the Brooklyn Museum.
