You’ve got a three-day weekend in the cross hairs, so suck it up and get through the next five days. Here are the very best food events in town this week.

Jam on Toast: A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of Great Lakes, Dixon Place, 161A Chrystie Street, Monday through May 31

This original play by Kate Benson uses the backdrop of Thanksgiving Dinner as a setting for an in-depth look at the family dynamic as told through the eyes of sportscasters. The role of food plays heavily into many scenes, even if there’s no cooking happening on stage. Pick up a hot dog from Los Perros Locos, which occasionally stops by the theater’s lounge pre- and post-show. Tickets are $20.

Jungian Wine Tasting Fundraiser, C.G. Jung Foundation, 28 East 39th Street, Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Fans of Portuguese wines and the human psyche are invited to support the C.G. Jung Foundation with an evening of tastings and wine discussion. Guests will receive a history lesson regarding the varietals of Portuguese grapes on offer while also getting a chance to network with other Jungians. Reservations are $100.

Masters of Social Gastronomy Presents: Food of the High Seas, Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street, Brooklyn, 8 p.m.

This month’s culinary seminar covers the sailing food of the past along with a look into the drinking habits of 17th century pirates that’ll cover rum, gin and tonic, and IPAs. Sip said drinks from the bar while you learn. The event is complimentary to attend, and guests are advised to arrive at 7:30 p.m. when doors open.

I.M. Pastry Studio’s Kickstarter Party, Brooklyn Terrace, 216 Duffield Street, Brooklyn, Thursday, 6 p.m.

Pastry designer Tiffany Washington and dessert stylist Jo-Laine Duke-Collins are gearing up to open I.M. Pastry Studio in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, and, in a final push for funding, they’ve turned to Kickstarter for a little help. In celebration, they’ll throw a complimentary party this Thursday, where people can learn more about funding food-focused Kickstarter campaigns, hear about the duo’s custom cake design business, and eat free cupcakes. Make your reservations through the event’s website.
