Cynthia King, founder of the Cynthia
King Dance Studio, trained at the Boston Conservatory and now makes community development her central m.o. After a career teaching dance and hosting events throughout New York’s boroughs, she’ll once again open the studio’s doors to Brooklynites of all ages and abilities with the Brooklyn-Queens Day Dance-a-thon. Professional dancers experienced in hip-hop, African, and contemporary dance will lead workshops in these and
a variety of other styles, eventually culminating in a dance-off competition. Visitors can also take advantage of a photo booth with costumes, and kids can leave their mark on the “CKDS Walk of Fame.” This free, public festival celebrates the debut of CKDS’s new Flatbush location.
