The 12th annual Big Apple Barbecue Block Party hit Madison Square Park this past Saturday and Sunday, bringing 18 pit-masters from everywhere from Texas to Red Hook together in one place. They dished out slow-smoked whole-hog, pulled pork, beef ribs, and brisket while local and Nashville talent like Black Taxi and Lera Lynn rocked the stage inside the beer garden. The Crooners strummed in the shade of Eleven Madison Park, where Pappy Van Winkle flowed all weekend long.
