Remember two months ago when we were all bitching about the cold? Yeah, we don’t, either. Because now it’s basically as hot as a sweaty armpit outside, and it’s going to take either cold booze or a frozen treat to lure us from our air conditioned strongholds.
Still, we’ll likely make our way over to Bryant Park sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. today, because that’s when gelato purveyor Talenti is doling out free samples in celebration of its three-month-long residency on 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
Perhaps you’ve spied Talenti on your grocery store’s shelf. If you’ve never been able to talk yourself into springing for an admittedly pricy pint of it, consider splurging sometime — it bests Haagen-Dasz’s gelato by miles. Smooth, dense, and ultra-creamy, it comes in varieties like Tahitian Vanilla, Belgian Milk Chocolate, and Sicilian Pistachio. We pick it up for special occasions.
But you can taste it for free today from 3 to 5 p.m., plus from 3 to 4 p.m. every Tuesday from now through October 15. Otherwise, stop by the pop-up daily from 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. (or 9 p.m. on Mondays during the summer movie series) from now until it shutters this fall.
