Artist Michael Alan likes to play with linearity: He creates paintings within paintings, visual puzzles, and live “happenings” in which everything seems to be unfolding at once. Experience Alan’s stimulating craft through the nine-hour Living Installation performance piece in Greenpoint. Nine models, using only their bodies, will act out Alice in Wonderland, as Alan turns them into living sculptures by decorating them with paint, flowers, and fabric. Alan and musician Tim “Love” Lee provide the soundtrack. Food and drinks will be served, and guests are invited to draw and dance. This event is a community project that, for 11 years, has created live art objects in venues like the Whitney and the New Museum.
