It was the longest day of the year on June 21 (official sunrise and sunset: 5:24:51 a.m. and 8:30:53 p.m.), as Make Music New York saw its eighth year. An event inspired by the Fete de la Musique in Paris, more than 1,300 free musical performances took place across the five boroughs to celebrate the art of making music. We took to the streets to meet some of these people and ask them about the music they help to create.
