Last year, Le Fooding chose retrospective time travel as their culinary theme. This year, the focus is ahead: Le Fooding Beach Club plans to bring a pulse back to the Sandy-ravaged Rockaways by hosting some of New York’s most skilled chefs on Beach 97 for three days of mod Italian cuisine. Chilled lemon ramen (Ivan Ramen), chilaquiles with burrata (Cosme), and cornmeal crostini sopes by the local, urban-farm-to-table Rockaway Taco are on the lineup, as well as the New York Brass Band, Cibo Matto, and DJ Nancy Whang and more. Grapefruit or cereal milk pudding popsicles are offered up by none other than Momofuku Milk Bar’s Christina Tosi. Italianate mocktails are also on the menu, and I’d imagine they incorporate event co-sponsor San Pellegrino’s sparkling fruit drinks; but if not, there’s still the sunset to look forward to and the warm feeling of knowing 10 percent of your ticket goes toward ongoing post-Sandy relief.
Fridays-Sundays, noon. Starts: July 11. Continues through July 13, 2014
