GOOD COMPANY

by

David Kaplan and Alex Day probably didn’t invent the craft cocktail movement all on their own…but looking back, it sure seems like they did. Ever since Death & Co., the haute-spooky East Village saloon, opened in 2006, it’s been accruing awards and fans for its painstakingly precise cocktails and shareable punch bowls. Call it science, call it alchemy, call it mixology (and then pay an extra $10 for it), but whatever this meticulous and loving brand of bartending is, it’s taken hold of the urban bar scene. Learn their secrets tonight as they talk with food writer Nick Fauchald and demonstrate how to make the bar’s most iconic cocktails — with an opportunity to taste the creations for good measure. If you can’t absorb that much knowledge and alcohol in one sitting, David, Nick, and Alex will be signing copies of their new book, Death & Co, which includes recipes for 500 of the bar’s signature drinks.
