Don’t let the antique furniture and grandma’s-house ambiance fool you. No Malice Palace is extraordinarily up to date on the hottest hip-hop hits to churn out in the middle of the night. On the weekends, the line outside rivals that of the big-hitter midtown dance clubs that typically come with an unfortunately large cover fee, but NMP is more laid-back than its popularity might have you assume. The inside is dingy and dive-y, while the dance floor is constantly popping. The DJs keep you on your toes, jumping between Biggie, A$AP Rocky, and Nicki Minaj and warranting everyone to scream, “This is my song!” at least once during the night. Every time you prepare yourself to leave this truly malice-free hip-hop palace, another hit bleeds out of the speakers. Who can resist being in the middle of the floor when ‘Ye and Jay’s “Otis” comes on at 2 a.m.?
