We would never tell you that one animal is “better” than another, because ranking God’s creatures like that is wrong. That said, the baby snow leopards that made their public debut at the Bronx Zoo this past August are clearly the best zoo animal. The two male cubs were born May 6; the city collectively swooned when they and their mother were finally put into a public habitat. They look soft and fluffy and their spotted paws are too big for them and they spend most of their time chasing each other’s fuzzy little tails. We’re not sure what more you could possibly ask for. And given that snow leopards are endangered, it’s pretty exciting that the Bronx Zoo got to celebrate a double addition. If you think you can handle another dose of cuteness, two baby gorillas arrived at the zoo this past spring as well.
