Three Restaurants That Opened In NYC This Week – 10/17/2014

When one restaurant’s doors close, another restaurant’s doors open, and every Friday, we’ll fill you in on what opened up around town. This week: a boardgame café in Bushwick, juice in Greenpoint, and a brioche-muffin hybrid in the Lower West Side.

Botica and Co., 607 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn

Greenpoint is now home to an apothecary and juice bar thanks to Botica and Co. The all-natural spot is serving teas, boosters, coffee and a variety of fresh juices. Feeling sick? The cafe may have the remedy you are looking for, whether it be for a hangover or the common cold.

Bruffin Café, 85 Delancey Street

Another week, another restaurant devoted to a food hybrid. The Bruffin, a brioche-muffin that gained popularity at Smorgasburg, now has a permanent location at The Yard, a co-working space. Bruffin Café is open daily.

Rivals Boardgame Café, 686 Grand Street, Brooklyn, 347-763-2832

At Rivals Boardgame Café, opened by board game enthusiasts Mike Sanderson and Kim Hackett, diners can play games while chowing down on finger foods and sandwiches. The place is open Tuesday through Sunday until 11 p.m.
