Get a kimichi French fry fix in Astoria when you head to Don Korean Grill. The restaurant makes its own kimichi in-house. The cash-only spot is serving a variety of chicken wings as well as bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, and Korean rice cakes. Don Korean Grill is open for dinner Monday through Friday and for lunch and dinner on weekends.
Happy Ending, 302 Broome Street
Located in what was a dive bar, Happy Ending is a French restaurant with a Michelin-starred chef commanding the kitchen. Diners can expect dishes like foie gras, grilled mustard chicken, and steak de canard. The interior is quirky with its retro art and leather and striped banquettes. Happy Ending is now open for dinner.
Petee’s Pie Company, 61 Delancey, 212-966-2526
Petee’s Pie Company opened just in time for Thanksgiving, and it turns out pies made with local produce and natural ingredients. Owner Petra “Petee” Paredez is serving up flavors such as salty chocolate chess, coconut custard, brown butter honey pecan, and maple walnut.
