A BRIEF COMMUTE

by

Every New Yorker has to do it at least once. Swipe your MetroCard, step through the turnstile, take off your trousers. It’s unseasonably warm underground anyway. From its breezy inception in 2002 — when only seven guys participated — to run-ins with the cops in 2006 to last year’s event taking place simultaneously in twenty-five countries around the world, Improv Everywhere’s No Pants Subway Ride has expanded to draw tens of thousands of participants in just a decade and change. So don’t turn tail (ahem) from this NYC tradition. It may be widely recognized, even anticipated, now, in 2015, but there’s always at least one unsuspecting out-of-towner to shock/offend/arouse. Don’t forget to RSVP on the website, and then dance down to your skivvies at the after-party. The exact meeting time and starting point posted to the site one week in advance.
