The 4Knots 2015 lineup may as well have an asterisk with a big ol’ “PLEASE BRING EARPLUGS” at the bottom of the list. We’ve just announced the first five acts that will be hitting Hudson River Park for the festivities this year — and they’re loud.
Mikal Cronin — who wowed us last night at the Bowery Ballroom — will be joining us at the fifth annual 4Knots, blasting through the sunny strains of his latest album via Merge Records, MCIII. Cronin recalls the sprawling, psyched-out sounds of Sixties rock in a garage-tinged way that’s sharply modern, a vibe that was practically tailor-made for a riverfront festival setting. Twin Peaks (the Chicago indie upstarts, not the cherry-pie-and-coffee murder mystery) will also be lugging their gear to Pier 84, alongside Happyness, Meatbodies, and Heaters.
We’ll be announcing additional artists at a later date, but in the meantime, get your tickets now: 4Knots pre-sale begins today, which means you can spend the $5 you’re saving (with the code 4KNOTSED) on treats and booze once you get to Hudson River Park. Pre-sale will last until 10 a.m. on May 8, so snap ’em up quick. Otherwise, General Admission, all-ages tickets are $25, VIP tickets for the 21+ crowd are $50, and kids under 10 get in free with an adult.
