Tracy Morgan to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ on October 17

The actor and comedian was involved in a horrific traffic collision on June 17, 2014, that put him in a coma for two weeks.

“I love comedy. I’ll never stop loving her,” Morgan said in an interview with Matt Lauer this summer on the Today show. “I’m not 100 percent yet, and when I’m there, you’ll know it. I’ll get back to making you laugh, I promise you.”

Morgan’s friend and fellow comic James McNair died from injuries sustained in the six-vehicle crash in New Jersey. Morgan was a passenger in a Mercedes bus around 1 a.m. that night. The bus was traveling north on the New Jersey Turnpike when a Walmart tractor-trailer rear-ended it, causing a chain-reaction crash.
