“You can take a picture of the Empire State Building 50 million ways,” says photographer Tyler Jordan. “Someone’s going to do [that] better. I’d rather be a photographer that is known for something that’s never going to be shown again.” That’s where the subway tunnels come in. Jordan started exploring the subway around the time that Hurricane Sandy hit New York, capturing both the subway’s destruction and resilience with his camera.
