The first night of two at Irving Plaza, Animal Collective’s mesmerizing, if not straight-up Picasso-esque, stage setup reflected every color of the rainbow on the sold out crowd. In support of the band’s recent release, Painting With, AnCo took their fans on a 90-minute trip through the new album — their tenth — and then some. New York-based Ratking opened up the show and proved to be an unexpected, yet perfectly suited fit for the bill.
