Merpeople took over Coney Island on a sunny Saturday afternoon for the 34th annual Mermaid Parade. Shells, fins, and pearls galore were on display as the mermaids marched down Surf Avenue and along the boardwalk, showing off some of the most intricate costumes this side of Halloween. From a Beetlejuice-inspired group to plenty of David Bowie-themed merfolk, there was no shortage of pop culture-influenced costumes at the parade.
