A Michelin-Starred French Chef Comes Back to New York

Fork in the Road hears that French chef Jean-Yves Schillinger will be taking over the kitchen of the enormous Nikki Beach space in midtown.

Schillinger grew up working at Restaurant Schillinger, his family’s restaurant in France, and most recently ran Restaurant JY, his own Michelin-starred brasserie in Alsace. But New Yorkers might remember him from the years he spent here, cooking modern French at Olica (the revamp of L’Actuel) and Destinée, which closed in 2003. NOIR, as it will be called, is slated to open later this spring.
