Aga Wojtasik: Navigating the Modelling World with Wellness and Resilience

The world of modelling has changed so fundamentally over the course of the last several decades that it is nigh unrecognisable today. It has evolved into a much more diverse, inclusive, and welcoming artistic field from its previous state.

Aga Wojtasik is a model who currently works in the industry and is campaigning for positive change in the modelling world.

Wojtasik works with well-known brands from around the world, including New York Models, LA Models, and PH1 Models Paris, among others. She has walked for shows like Armani, Issey Miyake, Dolce and Gabbana, and Laquan Smith and has worked on campaigns with brands like Dior Beauty, L’Oréal, James Perse, Alo Yoga, and dozens of others. She has had phenomenal success in the modern modelling industry, but it hasn’t always been that way.

Wojtasik considers one of the most pivotal moments of her career to be when she moved to the United States at eighteen from Białystok, Poland. “What inspired me to pursue modelling was travelling around the world at a young age and meeting the most creative people in my field. I feel inspired being part of someone’s vision and creating art,” she explains.

She began modelling in 2013 after being scouted on the streets of her hometown of Białystok, Poland. Following her move to the U.S. to pursue her career full-time, Wojtasik has since worked professionally in Japan, Hong Kong, Paris, Milan, London, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. She’s particularly proud to have booked an Armani show at Milan Fashion Week in 2017. It was a very important show, and it was a great personal achievement that helped further her career.

One of the key tenets of Wojtasik’s life, and one that helps her maintain physical, mental, and emotional wellness in her career, is her certification as a nutritional therapy practitioner. This plays a huge role in her day-to-day life, as she loves physical activity, keeping mentally and physically fit, and maintaining a dietary routine of eating food that serves a purpose and is good for her body and mind. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and insight with others on her social media.

Wojtasik has also faced challenges within the modelling industry over the course of her decade-plus career. “The first and unavoidable one is constant rejection from clients and agencies. I quickly learned I would need to have thick skin to last,” she said. Another significant challenge was learning how to live independently after being thrust into the industry while living on the other side of the globe from her family.

Wojtasik is dedicated to mentoring and often speaks to younger models who need advice on how to navigate the industry. She has given talks at modelling agency events in Poland to try and raise awareness of these issues.

She plans on creating content similar to a guide for new models and advice for young girls who struggle with comparing themselves to others and the pressures of society.

Ultimately, Aga Wojtasik aims to be a walking beacon of hope for young women, and her altruistic motivations are a good example of how the modelling industry has changed for the better. She has been a force for change during her time within the industry and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
