Sigh. The apology epidemic continues; after Rahm Emanuel was forced to apologize for saying “retarded” and Obama was forced to apologize for saying gambling in Las Vegas was a bad way to save for your kids’ future (yes, Las Vegas demanded an apology), NBC apologized for having a Black History Month menu in its cafeteria that included fried chicken and collard greens. Darn this political correctness! Come to think of it, we could go for some fried chicken and greens right about now. And some more iced tea, motherfucker!
Who else apologized this week?
- The President of Toyota apologized for making cars that can kill you and having to take them back.
- Secretary of Education Arne Duncan apologized for saying that because it led to better schools, Hurrican Katrina was “the best thing that happened to the education system in New Orleans.”
- Scott McCarron apologized for saying Phil Mickelson and others cheated by using a square-grooved club in PGA play.
- Jets coach Rex Ryan apologized for flipping off fans.
- The Washington Post apologized because one of its TechCrunch interns took a bribe.
- Jamie Foxx apologized to Jay-Z for using Auto-Tune.
Instant props to the any public figure who responds to the endless demands for apology with “I did it and I’m glad.”
