GIVE PEACE A CHANCE

by

Last month, Tibetan exiles elected Harvard law scholar Lobsang Sangay as their new prime minister, putting an end to the 75-year-old Dalai Lama’s role as the political leader of the Tibetan diaspora. Still acting as the spiritual leader, however,
the Dalai Lama has been traveling across the U.S. to visit his followers and spread his teachings of peace and compassion. His next stop is the Newark Peace Summit, a three-day event hosted by Newark mayor Cory Booker. The weekend of panels and workshops also includes Nobel Laureates Shirin Ebadi and Jody Williams, Russell Simmons, Goldie Hawn, Martin Luther King III, and Deepak Chopra.
