FOOD ARCHIVES La Esquina, Temporarily Shuttered by the DOH, Will Reopen for Lunch Tomorrow

What a summer it’s been for La Esquina: In May, the restaurant was temporarily closed by the Department of Buildings. Today, Eater brings word that it’s been shuttered by the DOH. But! Like one of those inflatable clown punching bags, La Esquina will soon rise again. Per an e-mail from its publicist:
La Esquina temporarily suspended service yesterday evening in order to make mechanical repairs to an improperly functioning kitchen appliance. We anticipate reopening for lunch service starting Wednesday, August 18. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers.
Regardless of what the DOH says, the restaurant at least gets an “A” for efficiency.
