Madison Cunningham: This question came at the perfect time. Three nights ago I landed in L.A. fresh off of a tour, and immediately drove to Ontario to see Kendrick Lamar.

 I can’t remember the last time I was that nervous to see an artist.  I think it came from knowing that it was about to be one of the best shows I’d ever seen.

 And lord almighty was it ever.  From the performance to the stage visuals, to the dancers, it was absolutely boundary-breaking. His stage presence was so patient and in command, and every creative decision so deliberate. Plus his songs are just some of the best musical constructions of this generation.

 I left wanting to be a better artist and musician, and that is the greatest gift.” ♦
