In a media landscape often dominated by conservative voices, Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey has emerged as a trailblazer among new progressive news shows. Recently recognized by Media Matters as one of the standout, ideologically based programs in a sea of ideologically conservative content, the show has cemented its place as a leading voice for news, social issues, and political perspectives since its launch in 2021.
A Record of Rapid Growth and Influence
Hosted by Emmy-nominated national broadcaster Dr. Rashad Richey, Indisputable is part of TYT Network, the largest progressive news network in the United States. The show was named “America’s Fastest Growing Television News Show” by HEG, LLC, in 2022, outperforming major cable competitors like CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News in terms of audience growth and engagement. On YouTube alone, Indisputable averaged 18 million monthly views, nearly 1 billion impressions, and 7 million watch hours. Across platforms—including Facebook, podcasts, and linear streaming services—the show reaches an impressive 43.6 million viewers monthly, airing live on weekdays at 2:30 pm EST on Roku TV, Xumo, Samsung TV Plus, TCL TV, Twitch, and other national linear cable networks.
This success reflects a growing appetite for incisive commentary on issues such as social justice, systemic bias, and political accountability. Dr. Richey’s fearless and nuanced approach to tackling controversial topics has resonated with audiences seeking fact-based reporting, opinion commentary, and meaningful debates.
Recognition Among Media Giants
In a recent Media Matters analysis of 320 ideologically driven online shows, right-leaning programs overwhelmingly dominated the ecosystem, including personalities like Tucker Carlson, Piers Morgan, and others, accounting for nearly five times the audience size of left-leaning counterparts. Despite this asymmetry, Indisputable, among the newest shows in the analysis, has managed to carve out a significant presence as one of the most influential left-leaning programs launched since 2021. It stands tall in an environment where right-leaning platforms like Fox News and The Daily Wire often overshadow progressive voices.
The show’s achievements extend beyond viewership metrics. In 2024, Indisputable the podcast version, which can be found on virtually all podcasting platforms including iHeart, Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, and Audible, was nationally recognized by winning the Best News & Politics award from the Black Podcasting Awards Show, and is currently ranked in the top 1% of most listened-to podcasts globally by podcast rating agency Listen Notes. Indisputable also grabbed the Audience Honor in Social Activism Award at the 16th Annual Shorty Awards. Additional honors include being awarded the 5th Estate New Media Award by the Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association in D.C. sponsored by Comcast Universal, and the Global Icon Awad from Black Media Honors. These honors underscore Dr. Richey’s ability to lead in the field of national media, break down complex stories and offer diverse perspectives.
Impactful Journalism
What sets Indisputable apart is its commitment to impactful journalism. The show has not only informed but also influenced real-world outcomes. For instance, its coverage of Kianna Cooper’s wrongful assault charge led to the dismissal of her case after exposing inconsistencies in law enforcement accounts through body cam footage. Such stories highlight how Indisputable leverages its platform to advocate for justice and accountability.
Dr. Richey, who got his start in Atlanta talk radio, notably News & Talk 1380-WAOK, and was the on-air political commentator for CBS News Atlanta, can engage with opposing viewpoints, further enhancing the show’s appeal. The “Bullpen” segment features fiery debates with conservative guests, fostering dialogue across ideological divides. High-profile guests like United States Senator Jon Ossoff, entertainer and entrepreneur Killer Mike, and morning talk radio show giant Rickey Smiley, have also contributed to the program’s credibility and reach.
A New Era for Progressive Media
As one of TYT’s flagship programs, Indisputable exemplifies the network’s mission to provide socially conscious digital media that challenges traditional narratives. With over 1.22 million YouTube subscribers, 1.5 million Facebook Watch followers, and millions more engaging across all platforms, the show is leading a new era of progressive journalism that prioritizes truth, open debate, and accountability.
Dr. Richey, who serves as the President of Rolling Out– the largest free-print urban publication in America, attributes the show’s success to the Indisputable audience first and foremost and to his team for their commitment to delivering “truth daily” in a world rife with misinformation. This ethos has not only earned him accolades but also positions Indisputable as a beacon for audiences seeking reliable and thought-provoking news daily.
In an era dominated by conservative media giants, Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey stands as a testament to the power of progressive voices in shaping public discourse and driving meaningful change.
