OnlyFans Marketing Stunts Reach Hollywood as Sydney Sweeney Sells “Bathwater” Soap

It seems that Sydney Sweeney is taking a cue from the OnlyFans world as she takes on a new market: selling soap that was made from her bathwater.

Why exactly would the 27-year-old Hollywood starlet decide now is the perfect time to start selling bathwater like an OnlyFans star? Well, Sweeney explained in a press release for the product.

“When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of soap.”

That’s exactly what Sweeney did, partnering with Dr. Squatch to create her new “Bathwater Bliss” soap. Each individual bar of soap comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, although it’s unclear exactly how much bathwater was used to create the soap or how exactly they went about verifying that the water provided was truly water from a Sydney Sweeney bath.

She continued in the press release: “It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural.”

In addition to her bathwater, the soap also contained pine bark extract and exfoliating sand and sold for $8 a bar. (The scent was marketing as “Morning Wood.”) That is, if you could get your hands on one of the 5,000 limited edition bars before they sold out in record time.

A representative of Dr. Squatch shared: “Y’all crashed the site. The Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss launch has been insane! We seriously appreciate the Squatch-sized enthusiasm. We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure the right folks – on a first come, first served basis – get their hands on the brick. Thanks for your patience.”

While the soap is no longer available on the website after selling out so quickly, there are many available from resellers who are trying to make thousands of dollars per bar. It’s not clear if they plan on doing another batch of bathwater soap, so if you’re on the hunt for it, you may be out of luck if your budget is less than $1,000.

But if you’re open to someone else’s bathwater, you can always turn to OnlyFans or other women out there selling their bathwater. Many people copied Belle Delphine, the porn star who made the concept famous back in 2019. At the time, Delphine had millions of followers and and used her audience to promote Gamergirl Bath Water, selling out of it within just three days.

She marketed it the same way Sweeney did, calling it “bath water for all you thirsty gamer boys” after many of her followers had said they’d drink her bathwater. She shared how much she made from the venture recently on a podcast, explaining that she sold 600 jars of the water in total, making her $18,000.

While $18,000 may seem meager compared to the $40,000 that Dr. Squatch likely made from their bathwater scheme, Delphine probably managed to keep more of it than Sweeney did. The details of Sweeney’s agreement with the soap company isn’t clear, but what is clear is that Hollywood and traditional advertising are beginning to take cues from OnlyFans.
