Kai Cenat, a 23-year-old American online streamer and YouTuber, is learning just how powerful OnlyFans stars can be — despite how little he thinks of them. Cenat recently announced Streamer University, a “school” for streamers.
In this Instagram video, he said: “I’m excited to extend to you a most heartfelt welcome to the very first class of Streamer University. Here, you will find a school where chaos is encouraged and content is king.”
Yet Cenat immediately angered an entire group of potential students by making it abundantly clear that he does not value OnlyFans creators and will never admit them to his “university.” In a livestream video talking about the types of content creators who should apply, he went off on why he won’t allow these OnlyFans creators in.
“I think me saying you don’t have to be a streamer, people took that and ran with it. Tell me why there are OnlyFans n***as applying talking about how they stream. We’re not talking about streaming on OnlyFans. You can’t get in. I had to search that up, ‘Can you livestream on OnlyFans?’ Why do you think you livestreaming on OnlyFans gonna make you come into the Streamer University? How does that even make sense?”
What is Streamer University, and why does it matter?
While there is a website where you can apply to attend (and apply to be a “professor”), there is minimal information on it. What little information is available doesn’t seem to match what Cenat described during his livestream, reading: “At Streamer University, streamers of all backgrounds will have the opportunity to showcase their personalities as students, alongside both unrealized, upcoming and well-established creators.”
But if Cenat plans to discriminate against an entire group of creators, he already seems to be straying away from this idea of welcoming all. And many of his followers were not happy with his decision to ignore and put down OnlyFans creators.
One person wrote: “Comes off like he’s afraid of someone with more popularity and more money than himself, honestly, that’s some brokeass energy right there, but we ik the simps for Kai will say otherwise tho.”
Another said: “Isn’t this supposed to be a learning opportunity? I think everyone knows how easy it is to turn on a camera and play with your Garfield.”
While a third added: “What’s wrong with OF females trying to apply?? this is an opportunity to grow, but Kai thinks just cause they do OF they are automatically a bad person.”
But it wasn’t just his followers that were upset at OnlyFans creators being left out. One of the biggest creators on the platform, Sophie Rain, took note of the dig at fellow OnlyFans creators and decided to do something about it. Rain, who founded the digital collective known as “The Bop House” that features eight women who all live together in a rented mansion in Florida, decided to create her own “university” — one that actually does welcome everyone.
Rain, sitting with other Bop House members whose ages range from 18 to 22, took to TikTok for their own announcement. The video, which appeared on the Bop House’s official account with more than 3.5 million followers, has over a million views. In the video, Rain said that in light of Streamer University prohibiting OnlyFans creators, she’s decided to create an “an inclusive environment and community” that will “not discriminate against bops” unlike Streamer University.
It seems that only one of these “universities” is actually welcoming to all after all.
