‘PART New Year’s’ w/ Matthew Dear+Daniel Brandt

by

Prolific Matthew Dear (a/k/a Audion a/k/a Jabberjaw a/k/a False) has been quiet since the retro-noir-synth-pop affair that was 2010’s Black City, but the Ghostly International workhouse has promised a 2012 album. He’ll usher in the New Year with his stark minimalism, burning techno, and quirky electro-pop. In Brandt Brauer Frick, Daniel Brandt has made a name for himself for something unusual: live instrumental techno. He’ll spin the music he loves, which BBF’s oeuvre suggests includes jazz and experimentalism as well as bass and house. With PART residents Nash, zzoran, and Gilles Wasserman, visuals by INqLAB and contemporary ballet by Kiani Del Valle.

Sat., Dec. 31, 9 p.m., 2011
