Experimental rockers Parts & Labor are addicting for their ability to create unlikely hooks from a chaos befitting more straightforward punk—think bona fide melody emerging from feedback loops and squealing guitar harmonics, not really a train wreck itself so much as a beautiful sculpture of one. Anthemic vocals layered on top might seem like a bad idea on paper but instead, they come across like complex progressive rock worn down to its last precious little nubs.
