An appellate court ruled this afternoon that former Obama Chief of Staff and U.S. Representative Rahm Emanuel does not meet residency standards to run for Mayor of Chicago. The Sun-Times reports that a panel voted 2-1 to scrap Emanuel’s name from the upcoming vote despite the fact that he is “the fund-raising leader in the race.” Judge Thomas Hoffman wrote in the decision, “We … order that the candidate’s name be excluded (or if, necessary, be removed) from the ballot from Chicago’s Feb. 22, 2011.” As he would say: Fuck.
