Sam Amidon+Doveman

Part of the brainy Northeastern art-folk scene that also includes Nico Muhly and Doveman’s Thomas Bartlett, Amidon plays tonight to celebrate the release of his new I See the Sign, on which he gives the brainy Northeastern art-folk treatment to a bunch of obscure, old, song-catcher ditties. (Fans of Jim O’Rourke’s singer-songwriter discs are advised to check Sign out.) Bartlett opens with a solo set “likely to include some special guests,” per the 92Y site.
