It’s becoming increasingly common for football clubs to find themselves in hot water thanks to OnlyFans, and this time it’s a Scottish club. Scottish League Two side Clyde’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) account reposted an image of OnlyFans star Sophie Rain alongside the caption ‘Me or a PS5’ before quickly deleting the post.
The picture was not x-rated, but was what the club described as ‘unfavorable content’ in a statement. They also claim to be looking into the matter.
“We’re aware of some unfavourable content that was shared on the club’s X account early this morning,” Clyde said in an X post.
“Needless to say, this content does not reflect the views of the club. A full investigation is currently underway into the source of this activity. We strongly condemn the personal abuse that has been aimed at members of the media team this morning, in particular, those without access to the club’s X account.”
One X user was quick to spot the retweet and shared a screenshot, writing: “Hi @clydefc. Can you address this please? Does not look great on the club at all.”
One of their rivals, fellow fourth tier outfit Peterhead, also noticed it, posting a screenshot of the embarrassing post.
“Someone’s admin has clearly run out of their Valentine’s love,” they quipped.
But they aren’t the only football club struggling with OnlyFans. Premier League’s Everton club found themselves in headlines and in trouble with one of their sponsors after someone wearing an Everton jersey was seen in an OnlyFans video of Bonnie Blue. Blue, also known as Tia Bellinger, is a British porn star who has made millions on the subscription-based adult content site. And part of that money came from her quest to sleep with 18-year-olds. It was that quest that led to the video where people noticed the Everton jersey — and the logo of Stake, a sponsor of the team.
That small clip led to the Coalition to End Gambling Ads filing a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in January 2024. Even though Stake wasn’t an official sponsor of Blue’s video, the logo was visible enough that the Australian-based gambling firm was forced to give up their betting license. It seems that Stake will not stop sponsoring Everton, as the BBC reported that Everton won’t be seeking any changes to its uniforms.
But what might be even more shocking is a request that non-league side Yate Town FC received. An anonymous OnlyFans star wanted to perform sexual acts in the changing rooms and out on the pitch during a match day. She even asked if the players and staff would be interested in getting involved.
The model had asked the Gloucestershire club to keep her request confidential. That didn’t stop the club from sharing screenshots of the conversation, though they did blur out her profile picture and full name. The club shared the screenshot, along with the caption: “We have had some weird requests before, but I think this tops the lot…”
It wouldn’t be surprising to see more content like this in the very near future.
