In late June, the DOH visited Red Rooster and didn’t like what it found. Inspectors slapped Marcus Samuelsson’s Harlem restaurant with 31 violation points, or the equivalent of a C grade. But as of last week, the chef is now back in the department’s good graces.
As DNAinfo reports, DOH inspectors paid a follow-up visit to the restaurant on August 4. This time, the restaurant passed with only 13 violation points, earning a solid A. A clearly relieved Samuelsson tweeted a picture of the new grade, and then, if the restaurant’s Twitter feed is any indication, returned to the task of planning the restaurant’s crayfish blow-out, which will take place on August 15.
