Trader Joe’s Opening in Staten Island. Time to Stock Up on Chili Lime Nuts!

by

Trader Joe’s, everyone’s favorite one-stop shop for cheap(er) groceries and sundries, is opening a location on Staten Island on Friday, making the new 15,000 foot space the sixth location in New York City for the retail chain, and the first in that borough.

Best get in line early to stock up on snacks like the addictive chili-lime nuts, which are hands-down our favorite product that the company makes. But if nuts aren’t your thing, head over to the Kitchn, where Andrea Lynn, author of the I Love Trader Joe’s College Cookbook: 150 Cheap and Easy Gourmet Recipes, shares her picks for the company’s top products, including Trader Joe’s Mango and Cream Bars, Sunflower Seed Butter, Savory Broth Chicken Flavor, Mandarin Orange Chicken, and the better-than-they-sound Chocolate-Covered Edamame.

According to the New York Daily News, the opening-day festivities kick off at 8 a.m. at 2385 Richmond Avenue, and will feature a steel-drum band playing until 10 a.m. and balloon-making through 3 p.m. Sounds like a good excuse to leave work early.
