If floating could be called an art form, then Berlin-based media artist Thom Kubli has mastered it. His Float Think Tank 21 is a perfectly constructed modern-age tank that allows you to weightlessly float within its confines—sort of like going into space. Today, the piece will be unveiled at the Marian Spore Gallery Summer Party. However, guests won’t be allowed to try it out at the opening; instead, you can book a one-hour session in the tank as early as July 30. Participants, one at a time, will enter the tank, listen to an audio composition about politics and zero gravity, and then float in silence in the dark (though if you feel claustrophobic, you can open the door to get out).
