Not about to be pinned down, Dan Fishback has played in bands, created visual-art pieces, and performed solo works for the theater (most recently, a piece on the history of the AIDS crisis titled thirtynothing). Now all of his many talents will be on display in No Direction Homo: Volume 2, a three-night follow-up (starting Friday) to his P.S. 122 showcase in 2006. Highlights include a reading of his pop musical The Material World (Friday), which imagines Madonna and Britney Spears living in a house with a family of socialist Jews in the 1920s (oy!), and the release party for his new album, The Mammal Years (tonight), with performances by transgender polka-punk rocker Lucian Kahn, anti-folk brother/sister duo Double Deuce (with Toby Goodshank of the Moldy Peaches), and the fabulous singer/performance artist Joseph Keckler.
