Captain Ahab

Los Angeles-based “ravesploitation” duo Captain Ahab plays unashamedly loud, hyperactive electro-pop-punk: think Mark Mothersbaugh plus Andrew W.K in a wacky Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! aesthetic. On their latest album, The End of Irony, Ahab focuses on blunt humor on songs such as “I Don’t Have a Dick” and the instructional “How 2 Party.” Ahab’s Jonathan Snipes has explained the inspiration behind the album as a “rejection of guilty pleasures”–as far as their live show is concerned, you can expect them to also reject their clothes before crowd surfing.
