Looking for a great date night? SummerScreen in McCarren Park brings together food trucks, music, and movies under the great (sort of) starry New York City sky. The six-week series kicks off tonight with the ’90s teen classic Can’t Hardly Wait, starring Ethan Embry as a high school senior and Jennifer Love Hewitt as the prom queen he’s secretly in love with. The following weeks offer Pee Wee’s Big Adventure (July 17), The Craft (July 24), The Goonies (July 31), and Speed (August 7). The last movie of the summer is decided via vote on SummerScreen’s Facebook page, and the competition is fierce with Mallrats, Heathers, and High Fidelity among the nominees. Food trucks and music at 6, movie at sunset.
Wednesdays, 6 p.m. Starts: July 10. Continues through Aug. 14, 2013
