doTERRA’s CEO says the global essential oils giant is net debt-free and expanding into new markets.

doTERRA surpassed $2 billion in annual sales while serving more than 10 million customers worldwide, CEO Kirk Jowers announced during the company’s Jumpstart 2025 event. The virtual event, which took place on Jan. 8, unites thousands of entrepreneurs to gain the latest information on doTERRA and everything the brand has to offer this year.

doTERRA’s Global Reach

The company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Pleasant Grove, says its success stems from its sourcing model. doTERRA partners with local growers across 45 countries through its Co-Impact Sourcing program, which launched in 2016. The initiative created 122,095 jobs by 2018.

And then there is doTERRA’s direct selling approach, which connects over 3 million distributors, called Wellness Advocates, with customers worldwide. Wellness Advocates provide personalized education about essential oils while building their own businesses.

“This isn’t just a business; it’s a movement. One built on a foundation of wellness, service, and genuine care for others,” Jowers emphasized during his Jumpstart 2025 address.

Financial Strength and Market Position

The company maintains strong financial health, operating net debt-free while expanding steadily across global markets. doTERRA has distributed essential oils to customers in over 155 countries, and in 2023, opened Chile, the United Arab Emirates, and El Salvador as new markets.

In addition to ongoing growth, doTERRA continues to gain recognition and applause from the various industries its products serve. doTERRA dominated the Global Makeup Awards, securing gold recognition for its Refreshing Body Wash, Serenity Stick® + Valerian, doTERRA Serenity essential oil blend, and Roam® Diffuser. The brand’s Root to Tip Serum achieved dual recognition, winning gold for Best Hair Oil and receiving a high commendation for Best Scalp Product.

In the sustainability arena, doTERRA’s Co-Impact Sourcing model earned the 2024 Sustainability, Environmental Achievement, and Leadership Sustainable Innovation Award, while its leadership received recognition through the Titan Business Awards, with Shannon Bible winning platinum for Team Builder of the Year and Bishnu Adhikari securing gold for Sustainability Leader of the Year.

The company’s achievements extended to the Universal Beauty Awards, where its Anti-Aging Moisturizer and Laluz® Diffuser received recognition. The year culminated with doTERRA winning gold for Best USA Beauty Brand at the Global Makeup Awards, reinforcing its position as a leader in the health and wellness industry.

Social Impact Through doTERRA Healing Hands

doTERRA’s philanthropic arm—doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation— established in 2010, raised over $2.3 million for Co-Impact Sourcing projects in 2021 alone.

Recent initiatives include partnering with Save the Children and supporting the Cerrito Agricultural School in Paraguay. It launched the 25 Collective in 2022, creating a monthly giving program for its Wellness Advocates.

Additionally, the company established the 10,000-acre Kealakekua Mountain Reserve in Hawaii, representing the largest reforestation effort in the state, with the goal to plant one million trees by 2030.

North American markets continue to show strong momentum. “These markets where doTERRA first began remain foundational to our success, and yet there’s so much more to do,” Jowers noted during the Jumpstart 2025 event.

“We know we will continue our global impact because of our enduring pursuit of purity. Together with our Wellness Advocate leaders, we are committed to close out this decade by enriching more lives with our products, pure intentions, pure business practices and our pure love for humanity.”
