HARLEM RENAISSANCE

by

From Sylvia Woods to Marcus Samuelsson, Harlem has long attracted innovators of food and drink. The latter is a founder of the Harlem EatUp! Festival, a brand-new four-day celebration of the historic and burgeoning culinary culture of Harlem. Enjoy a series of prix-fixe dinners by chefs such as Bobby Flay, Jose Garces, Adrienne Cheatham, and Samuelsson himself and walk-around food tours of the neighborhood, like Saturday’s “The Stroll: A Grand Tasting Experience.” If you, for some reason, get full and need a break, drop in on one of the many panel discussions covering the business (“How to Open a Restaurant”) and creative (“Inside the Artistic Process”) sides of being a chef. To top it off, attend a culinary demo to learn the craft.
