Classic Stage Company’s five-year Chekhov cycle fittingly concludes with his final play The Cherry Orchard. Dianne Wiest stars as Madame Ranevsky, a clueless aristocrat who has fallen on hard times and must sell off her estate, which includes the family’s beloved cherry orchard. John Turturro plays Lopakhin, a greedy member of the new middle class in Russia who sets his sights on the family’s property, determined to chop down the orchard where his father and grandfather worked as serfs. Andrei Belgrader directs this production, which includes Josh Hamilton, Juliet Rylance, Elisabeth Waterston, Katherine Waterston, and Michael Urie.
