A recent episode of TLC reality series, Welcome to Plathville, featured a heated discussion about the possibility of one of the members of the ultra-conservative family dating someone with an OnlyFans account. And for the rural Georgia family that lives a fairly sheltered life thanks to their traditional Christian Fundamentalist lifestyle, an account on the subscription-based platform known mostly for its pornographic content would be quite the shock.
The person accused of having the account is Teegan Nichols, the girlfriend of Ethan Plath. Ethan, 27 years old, has been dating Nichols for more than 10 months but she only made her appearance on the reality show recently. And she found the entire OnlyFans situation laughable.
“Ethan was really upset. I thought it was really funny. I couldn’t stop laughing,” Nichols said during the Tuesday, September 2, episode. “And obviously it’s not true.”
While Veronica Peters (girlfriend to Ethan’s brother Micah) accused her of having the account as something of an insult, Nichols didn’t take it that way.
“I just felt really flattered that she felt like she could say that about me,” she said on camera. “Because not everyone, I guess, could have an OnlyFans.”
“I don’t know, it’s really fan-like behavior in my opinion to be so obsessed with someone that you’ve met one single time,” Teegan confessed. “Veronica must be very insecure about something.”
While Nichols may be new to the show, Ethan shared about his relationship with her on Instagram earlier this year in January, writing: “Proud to introduce my sweet girlfriend! She truly is one of the sweetest, kindest, and patient people I’ve ever known! Looking forward to the next year and what it has to bring. Wishing everyone a very happy new year! Here we go 2025!”
Despite Nichols only being on the show a few episodes, she already knows how to handle drama well. After Peters’ accusations, she shared her concerns for Peters’ relationship.
“At the end of the day, I don’t know if it’s her relationship with Micah, her relationship with the family in relation to just herself even. It’s just sad, that’s all,” she said.
And it seems that the relationship does have some issues, as it was revealed in a previous season that Micah had cheated on her. But not just physically.
While Micah confirmed his infidelity and apologized to Veronica on the show earlier this season, issues surrounding trust resurfaced during Tuesday’s episode while they attended a counseling session.
During a recent episode it was revealed during a therapy session that after Peters claimed Nichols had an OnlyFans account, Micah searched for it.
“I don’t think it’s normal to look up your brother’s girlfriend’s naked photos,” Peters told their therapist, with Micah quickly replying, “I didn’t find any.”
“He’s in his phone and I look over his shoulder and he’s looking up his brother’s girlfriend’s naked photos on the Internet. … She’s like a naked model on the internet. That’s weird.”
While Micah argued he was only trying to “get the facts” it wasn’t enough for Peters who insisted that Micah never see his brother’s girlfriend again.
“I don’t trust you. You’re not allowed around her now,” Peters declared.
Despite not even being on the platform, Nichols is facing the same kind of scrutiny that many OnlyFans models face daily, especially in such conservative communities. But it was refreshing to see Nichols not be offended by the accusation and instead consider it a compliment.
