Le Confessionnal

by

Dir. Robert Lepage (1995).
This well-made mystery story was the first film helmed by the brilliant Canadian Lepage, star director of the Montreal stage who became internationally famous for his avant-garde productions. Its engaging plot involves the reunion of two brothers at their father’s funeral, a narrative cleverly intercut with a flashback structure built around Hitchcock’s filming of I Confess in Quebec City.
