OnlyFans Model, Sophie Rain, returned to her rented house in Ft. Lauderdale after the Super Bowl to discover a broken window, a blaring alarm and a strange man waiting for her. Not quite what she expected, as the content creator, 20, had rented the home to create content with her fellow OnlyFans models.
The group of eight women, whose ages range from 18 to 22, usually live in the self-designated “Bop House” in a luxury mansion in Miami. Between the women, they boast over 33 million followers on social media. So it’s not surprising that it was big news when they reported the break-in.
The women found the strange man waiting for them, claiming to be the new owner of the rented home. Rain did not believe him and immediately called for help. It wasn’t just local police that showed up for support. SWAT and the Coast Guard (the house they rented is located on the water) arrived on the scene. They reportedly spent hours talking to the suspect and trying to get him to vacate the property.
The 20-year-old man refused to leave, and ultimately going in with guns drawn. They were able to arrest him without any addiitonal problems.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an uncommon scenario for OnlyFans creators like Rain and her crew. Other creators are facing similar issues, including Taylor Ryan, 27. The OnlyFans model shared her story of the dark side of the platform recently after she was stalked by one of her own subscribers.
It’s not unusual for creators to communicate with their subscribers — it’s one of the reasons followers prefer the platform to others — but her interactions with this particular subscriber escalated quickly.
“It was a subscriber I had spoken to on OnlyFans, but never in real life. He would occasionally message me about things I was doing, but I always assumed he had seen it on my story or something…On a few different occasions he would say, ‘I think I’ve just driven past you’ when I was just walking to my car,” Ryan explained.
As things continued to escalate, one message in particular pushed Ryan to call the police. The message described her as looking ‘cozy’ at her house, and there was no way this person could have known where she lived if he hadn’t been stalking her.
While any woman could fall victim to stalkers like these, putting their lives so publicly online may increase those odds for women like Rain and Ryan. Of course, that doesn’t mean they deserve any of this. But it does have people questioning if the benefits of platforms like OnlyFans outweigh the risks.
