In artist Airan Kang’s first solo exhibition Light Reading, she takes the idea of the Kindle to another level by re-creating classic literature books and igniting them with blaring neon colors using LED devices (low-power, smaller-size light-emitting diodes). For about a decade, Kang has used this technique to make light shows in libraries, bookstores, and reading rooms. Light Reading continues the exploration of her “Digital Book Project” by using books that are replicas of the originals she found in bookstores and famous libraries that were an inspiration to her. Take that, Amazon!
