The rare dude who’s opened for Cold War Kids, Stereolab, and Wilco, Swift makes loosely defined avant-roots records that sound like how someone in the future might imagine music from the past. His latest, April’s The Atlantic Ocean, features a dreamy, typically hard to classify collaboration with Mark Ronson, Sean Lennon, Ryan Adams, and Wilco multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone: It’s titled, rather excellently, “Ballad of Old What’s His Name.” With Itchy Hearts and Lily Claire.
